Club Adds Two Vans To Its Fleet

The Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley has added two much-needed new vans to its transportation program thanks to the generosity of the Ahmanson Foundation and O’Reilly Auto Parts (formerly Kragen Auto Parts). The Club purchased a 15- and 12-passenger Ford van that will be used to transport children to and from the Club from local schools during the school year and during the summer for field trips.

Honors For Canoga Park High
School/Boys & Girls Club Members

Honors For Canoga Park High School/Boys & Girls Club Members For the first time in its history, the Fernando Foundation honored three graduating seniors from one school for their excellent community volunteerism. Alby Lucino Delgado, Maria Mikhaeil, and Cynthia Ubilla of Canoga Park High School (CPHS) each were awarded a $1,000 scholarship for college.

All three students were active members of the Boys and Girls Club of West Valley, taking advantage of its programs at both CPHS and The Club. They stood out for their initiative, tireless volunteer efforts, and encouragement to fellow students to stay in school and participate in Club activities.

2008 Annual Report Is Published

Fourteen years after it was founded, the Boys and Girls Club of the West Valley enjoyed its most successful year yet in 2008, with an impressive 50 percent growth in memberships, three highly successful fundraising events, and numerous new and exciting programs created and implemented for the Club’s members. The annual report revealed that 86 percent of the Club’s revenue was used for programs..
